Thrice Before Ice

I had a chat with Wendy Rumbles on the trail today about the impressive flow of water in the Washbrook this autumn.  As Joe Dennis says, it gives the brook a voice.  Wendy shared a saying from her mother, “Thrice Before Ice” or three heavy rainfalls before winter sets in.  This year that bit of folk wisdom certainly held true and more.

I would be interested in hearing any other sayings that have come your way.  You can add them to the comments section on Facebook or use our Contact Us tab on the website.
